Printmaking
In the workshop, we use a printmaking press made from a converted mangle; another press made from an old bookbinding press; and handmade barens. Come and experiment with these characterful items and discover the joy of making a jolly good mess!!

PRINTMAKING WORKSHOPS – LINOCUTS
Saturday 12th September and Sunday 20th September 2026
Two workshops focusing on linocut printmaking. Enjoy one workshop or take two to learn further techniques.
PRIVATE SESSIONS
Workshops can be booked for 2 or 3 hours per session. You can also book a series of workshops to make a short course, over 3 or 4 sessions, for a 10% discount if paid up front.
Prices are: 1 person: £45 for 2 hours/£55 for 3 hours; 2–6 people: £35/£45 each

DRYPOINT
Learn the basics of scratching into a plastic plate with a drypoint tool, followed by further methods with this technique. Expand into experimentation and crossover with other printmaking techniques.

LINOCUTS
Learn how to make a linocut, using a soft-cut plate. Start with one colour, build up to two or three… learn about registration and try a jigsaw print. Be warned, it gets addictive!

COLLAGRAPH
Create a collaged plate using waste materials such as cardboard or Tetrapak, and learn how to make prints from it. Once you get the idea, there’s no end to the experiments you can make!

MONOPRINT
This is a process that can be as simple or complicated as you would like to make it. Start with the basics and then learn how to introduce further techniques and developments.
