Willow Bird Feeders

At the end of January I was asked to run a private workshop, making willow bird feeders. It was a struggle to get the willow soaked properly in the icy weather but we just about managed and the group were keen to proceed in spite of the cold workshop!

When you start wrestling slightly under-done willow however, you soon warm up! They quickly grasped the basics of the weaving and after a couple of hours we all had a feeder for fat balls, to hang from a tree or stand. Hopefully some wild birds will soon be benefiting from the extra food!

Well done to everyone for storming through the tough conditions, proving that even in the midst of winter there is fun to be had!!
